This is the best conditioner I have found for my fine, dry fringe and hairline hair, which normally looks like thistledown after washing. With this conditioner it does what it is told, is super soft and manageable. Nothing else does this. I’m wedded to it.
You can add volume to hair naturally and in an instant. I believe that the simplest of changes can make the biggest impact.
If you part hair in the middle, it’s going to look flat. That’s fine if that’s the style you want. However, if you want a quick and easy solution for adding volume to your hair naturally, changing your parting can add volume in an instant.
Let me introduce you to the deep angled-parting. This will add immediate volume to your style.
Add Volume to Hair Naturally with a Deep-Angled Parting in 3 Easy Steps
The deep-angled parting is a simple technique for adding volume to hair. You can try this out on dry hair, simply by creating a deep-angled parting on one side of the head, flip the hair over and do a little bit of gentle back-combing at the roots to the hold the parting in place. Alternatively, you can style the deep-angled parting on freshly washed hair to give it a better fix and finish.
3 Easy Steps for Instant Volume.
Step 1 | Prep the Hair
Shampoo and condition or use a deep conditioner, rinse and towel out excess water from hair. At this point, the hair should be damp but not dripping. When hair is damp, you can apply a hair volume product to give your hair body and hold. Choosing the right volumizing hair product is key for this look. You want to maintain some movement in the hair but still have some hold to maintain your style.
For our model, I used the Styling Mist for Natural Hold and Volume. Application is important when it comes to products for fine hair. Styling Mist for Volume has a fine mist to give hair good volume without weighing it down.
Choosing a quality lightweight styling product is the key to getting the finished look just right.
Step 2 | Part the Hair
Once you’ve prepped the hair, you can blow-dry it as normal. This is a crucial point in the styling process. That’s because, and this is easily done, most of us overdo it with the hairdryer. When we dry the hair for too long the excess heat causes it to become dry and it loses elasticity. Have you ever been frustrated that your hair won’t hold a style or it becomes fly-away? If the answer is yes, it’s time to reduce the time spent under the hairdryer.
As soon as the hair is dry, STOP. It should still feel pretty flexible. At this point, you can get busy with a comb to create a deep-angled parting on one side of the hair. What this does is create lift and the deeper the angle, the more height and lift you can achieve. Our model has fine hair so I went the deepest angle possible to bring the hair right over to create body and height.
Step 3 | Lift the Hair
Your hair is prepped and your parting is at the ready. Once you’ve got your parting in place you can use a round brush and take the section of the hair where you want to create lift. Then, you simply place the brush at the end of the hair and roll it down to roots. Blast the root area with the hairdryer for a few seconds, leave to cool and gently remove the brush.
A quick blast of heat and then allowing the hair to cool is a simple technique to set hair in place. You can blast it with cool air rather than waiting for it to cool but we say, why waste the energy? It’s just as easy to wait for it to cool. Our philosophy is to keep styling light touch and not to touch the hair too much. This gives a much better finish.
