Got a question about our hair care range?
Here are some frequently asked questions. If you can’t find the answer here or would like specific advice about your own routine, please get in touch using our contact form.
Are your products tested on animals?
Our products are made in the UK where it is illegal to test on animals and we do not export our products to any countries where animal testing is a requirement. In the UK and across the rest of the EU, testing cosmetic products or their ingredients on animals is banned. This means that it is illegal to sell or market a cosmetic product if animal testing has taken place on the finished cosmetic or its ingredients before being sold in the EU
How much product should I use?
Our shampoos and conditioners are very concentrated so you don’t need to use much. We recommend using around 50% of what you would use with other products. With one person using the product, normal usage we’d expect the 250ml shampoos and conditioners to last approximately 2-3 months. For each application of hair masque, we recommend 10ml. This means a 200ml Restore and Shine Hair Masque used once a week should last around 20 weeks. Similarly, our natural styling products go a long way. 2 to 3 pumps of our styling mist for volume or glossy finish is plenty. Use a little more or little less depending on the needs of your hair.
How often should I wash my hair?
As a general guideline, 2 to 3 times a week is good if you have dry hair. If your hair is fine and prone to oiliness you may want to wash your hair every day and there’s no reason why you shouldn’t. If you have afro-textured hair then once a week. The most important thing is to choose the right shampoo and conditioner for your hair type. After that, you make the rules as nobody knows your hair better than you.
I have fine hair. Which conditioner should I use?
Fine hair can be prone to tangles. Revive and Shine Conditioner is great for detangling. It does the job without having to comb through the hair so it’s very gentle. It has a light formula so won’t weigh the hair down. It adds volume, with absolutely no build-up. Take a look at our blog to find out about caring for fine hair.
I have dry, damaged hair. Which of your hair products would you recommend?
If the hair is dry or damaged it needs moisture to help it back into good condition. We’d recommend using our Restore and Shine Hair Masque. It’s a natural hair mask for dry or damaged hair; use once a week to build moisture in the hair and smooth the cuticle. Adding moisture to hair is an ongoing process. Think of it like your skin. With regular hydration, you can improve the texture and then maintain with a good routine of weekly hair mask treatments. Take a look at our blogs on adding moisture to dry hair and repairing damaged hair.
I have a dry scalp. What’s the best shampoo for me?
Both of our shampoos are gentle on the scalp and both contain pro-vitamin b5 which is a good moisturiser for the scalp. We recommend Revive and Shine Shampoo for all hair types, including fine hair and Hydrate and Shine Shampoo for dry or damaged hair. However, if you have a flaky scalp then we would recommend Revive and Shine Shampoo. It contains nettle which is great for balancing scalp condition.[
How can I thicken my fine hair?
We’ve been working with hair for a long time and we’ve yet to come across a shampoo or conditioner that can make hair thicker permanently. However, when the hair has moisture, it does plump out the cuticle to leave the hair looking and feeling thicker.
So the key is to add moisture to the hair and to keep moisturising with regular shampooing, conditioning and deep conditioning treatments. We recommend Revive and Shine Shampoo and Conditioner to add moisture to fine hair. This was a favourite combo in our salon for leaving hair with body and volume.
There are other things you can do to get your hair looking fuller and thicker.
- Get the right cut. Talk to your stylist about the best shape to help your hair look thicker and fuller.
- Style for volume. Take a look at our blog on caring for fine hair to find out how you can style your hair to add volume and body.
My hair is curly but fine. Which of your shampoos and conditioners is best for me?
We recommend Revive and Shine Shampoo and Conditioner. They will give you the moisture that your hair needs (curly hair is prone to being dry) but as your hair is fine, it’s important that the products you choose are not too heavy for your hair. Both Revive Shampoo and Conditioner rinse easily from the hair and they add volume. Revive and Shine Conditioner is an excellent detangler and will leave your hair with good curl definition.
If the ends of your hair are extremely dry you can use Hydrate and Shine Conditioner on the ends and mid-lengths. Alternatively, use a weekly mask treatment alongside Revive and Shine Shampoo and Conditioner to give the ends an extra moisture boost.

Do I need to use a conditioner after I’ve used your Restore and Shine Hair Masque?
No. We recommend using our Restore and Shine Hair Masque once a week in place of your regular conditioner. Its a deep conditioning treatment developed to add extra moisture to your hair. After you’ve applied it you can leave it in for 10 mins or a couple of hours (leave for longer if the hair is very dry… we have clients who let the hair mask dry into their hair and leave overnight) and rinse. Not need to shampoo or condition. If you are leaving in overnight, you simply rinse the next morning and style as normal.

How do I stop my hair being frizzy after washing?
Frizzy hair is a sign that hair is dry. Basically, if the hair is not well-hydrated it will seek moisture from the atmosphere and frizz is the result. Any hair type can become frizzy but its most common in coarse, dry or curly hair types. It can also be more susceptible to frizz at different times of the year. So, for example, the summer can exacerbate the problems of dry hair.
We believe that prevention is the answer to frizz-free hair. Build a foundation of moisture in your hair with your shampoo and conditioner. Always condition the hair after shampooing. Regular weekly treatments with our Restore and Shine Hair Masque will give the hair moisture and smooth the cuticle to prevent frizz.
