Usage

Wash and condition the hair then soak up excess water with a towel, leaving the hair damp. Gently shake the bottle before use to activate then spray 2-3 times above the head, allowing the mist to settle onto the hair for a few seconds. Style as normal.

Best Hair Styling Products for Fine Hair

My advice when styling fine hair? Avoid heavy oils and serums. I can guarantee they will leave your hair looking flat.

Instead, choose Styling Mist for Volume. This lightweight styling product doesn’t leave build-up on the hair and adds volume.

  • The best way of getting volume into fine hair is to give it moisture. That’s why I use moisture-boosting ingredients such as Pro-Vitamin B5 or Tocopherol (Vitamin E) in my hair styling products.
  • Fine hair is prone to tangling. Styling Mist for Volume contains honey to detangle hair along with strengthening oat extract.

Best Hair Styling Products for Bleached or Colour-Treated Hair

When hair is chemically processed, the cuticle is open for effective treatment. Colour treatments or bleaching are chemical processes. The process opens the cuticle to change the natural pigment of the hair. As a result of opening the cuticle, bleached hair is prone to becoming excessively dry.

My advice? Use hair styling products that add moisture.

I recommend Styling Mist for Glossy Finish. It contains Tocopherol (Vitamin E) to nourish and smooth the hair.

  • Styling Mist for Glossy Finish is both a styling product and a leave in conditioner. Containing Tocopherol, Pro-Vitamin B5 and Argan Oil, it supports healthy hair and conditions hair as you style.

Best Hair Styling Products for Dry or Damaged Hair

When hair is dry or damaged, it’s time to give your hair some TLC. I recommend treating your hair with a quality deep conditioning hair mask at least once a week. A routine of deep conditioning treatments will give you a good foundation for styling.

Now, the truth is that heated styling tools are not great for dry or damaged hair. 

However, you don’t have to give up on heated styling, but you can reduce the impact by using Styling Mist for Glossy Finish.

It’s our best styling product for dry or damaged hair, and here’s why. 

  • Styling Mist for Glossy Finish contains Sugar Beet. Sugar Beet increases the water retention capacity of hair fibres.
  • It reduces drying time so that hair is exposed to heat for a shorter time, making the styling less drying and damaging.
  • Styling Mist for Glossy Finish doubles up as a leave in conditioner as it contains nourishing ingredients such as Pro Vitamin B5, Vitamin E and Glycerin. That means it gets moisture to the hair’s core and smoothes the cuticle, enabling your hair to retain more moisture.

Best Hair Styling Products for Afro Hair

Afro-textured hair can be prone to breakage and tangling. The way to prevent breakage and tangling is to keep hair hydrated. Adding moisture to your hair is an essential part of your styling routine.

Coily hair is often dense but not always. This density makes it prone to losing moisture. A routine of adding moisture is the answer to achieving beautiful natural coily hair.

Best Hair Styling Products for Frizzy Hair

Best Hair Styling Products for Long Hair

Long hair needs proper maintenance. Take time to look after it, and you’ll reap the rewards with hair that looks and feels fabulous. I’ve been working with hair for over 35 years, and whilst long hair requires more maintenance, it’s worth putting the time in to get the swishy, shiny hair you’ve always wanted. 

There are three things I recommend for long hair when styling.

  1. Choose the right hairbrush; a paddle brush for long, straight hair or a round brush for long hair with waves.
  2. Reduce the amount of heat you apply to your hair.
  3. Choose styling products that condition and add moisture to your hair.

Choose either of my styling mists to reduce drying time. Reducing drying time helps to reduce the amount of heat exposure. They will add moisture to your hair as you style.

Styling Mist for Volume will add volume to any hair type, but if your hair is fine and long, it’s the right choice for adding volume to your hair. 

For extra shine and glamour, or if you have dry, long hair, choose Styling Mist for Glossy Finish. It contains Sugar Beet and will help your hair stay hydrated for longer.

Best Hair Styling Products for Short Fine Hair 

When it comes to hair styling products, my mantra is ‘less is more’.

That’s why I’ve chosen a light mist application for my styling range.

Because successfully styling your hair is not just about what you put on your hair. How you apply styling products to your hair is equally important.

Here’s what I mean. When applying styling products to short, fine hair, it’s easy to overload the hair. That’s why my styling range has a super-fine mist pump that enables you to get an even spread on the hair, and the lightness of application is perfect for short, fine hair.

I believe styling products should give control without restricting the natural movement of the hair. That’s why I developed Styling Mist for Natural Hold and Volume.

Perfect for short, fine hair, it delivers a natural-looking finish with volume whilst leaving the hair with plenty of movement. The best styling products for fine hair are lightweight.

Therefore when thinking about styling and how to look after short, fine hair, it’s best to avoid heavy products such as waxes, oils and industrial-strength hairsprays!

I recommend a couple of spritzes of Styling Mist for Volume to prep short, fine hair for styling. Two or three spritzes maximum is enough to add volume and give your hair texture.

 

Best Hair Styling Products for Curly Hair

There is no ‘one size fits all’ for curly hair. So to keep it simple, if your curly hair is fine, I recommend Styling Mist for Volume. If your hair is thick, I recommend Styling Mist for Glossy Finish because this will help with curl definition and adding moisture.

Fine, Curly or Wavy Hair

Fine hair is more prone to tangles, so choosing a lightweight, detangling, styling product like Styling Mist for Volume is an excellent way of prepping your hair for styling.

Focus on getting body at the roots when styling fine curly or wavy hair

Once hair is prepped with the right shampoo and conditioner, it’s time to put those curls and waves to work! 

Work with your natural curls and waves to give hair more body and movement. Focus on the roots where hair may be flatter. Use your fingers to lift your hair at the roots as you dry your hair.

Choose lightweight Styling Mist for Volume to add volume and definition. You can use short blasts of heat as you gently lift the roots. Turn your head upside down for extra lift and volume. The key is not to over-dry the hair as this can leave it flat. Switch the hairdryer off when hair is around 80% dry and leave the hair to dry naturally.

Use a diffuser when using a hairdryer, or let your hair air dry.

If you are using a hairdryer to dry your fine curls and waves then I recommend a diffuser. A diffuser attachment on your hairdryer disperses the air and prevents the heat from roughing up the cuticle. It reduces frizz and keeps your curls intact. Alternatively, you can air-dry your hair. 

If you have thick, wavy or curly hair, you may well be the envy of your friends. And rightly so. That is the hair that everybody wants. However, I’ve worked with many clients over the years who just wanted to contain their curls and waves; some would keep their hair tied back, others using straighteners.

By tackling the things they didn’t like about their curly hair (dryness, frizz, tangles and lack of shine), I helped them to embrace their natural hair.

I recommend taking a simple approach. Instead of applying styling products immediately after washing hair, I recommend using some Hydrate and Shine Conditioner. When your hair is damp but not dripping wet, apply a small amount of Hydrate and Shine Conditioner through the ends and mid-lengths. Twist your hair and leave it to dry.

Once hair is semi-dry, spritz with Styling Mist for Glossy Finish. Another multi-tasking product, this lightweight mist, will give your hair definition and hold the curls. Once completely dry, shake your head and let those curls loose!
