Treats inspired by Restore and Shine Hair Masque

Avocado is a key ingredient in Restore and Shine Hair Masque. But what is it that makes avocado so good for hair? First up avocado is one of nature’s great moisturisers. So, if your hair is dry, this hair repair mask containing avocado adds moisture, leaving it easier to work with and style.

Avocados contain linoleic and oleic fatty acids. Linoleic acid is great for balancing scalp condition. Oleic acid helps to hair to retain moisture, making avocado oil a great ingredient for fighting frizz.

You can find more about the benefits of avocado as a deep conditioner in our blog, highlighting the benefits for dry hair.

A warming cup of nettle tea to soothe body and soul

Nettle Tea Winter Treats

So, a warming cuppa is real comfort in the winter months and we love to try all kinds of herbal teas. Nettle tea is known for its anti-inflammatory properties making it a perfect choice for your healthy hair diet. Nettle is rich in silica, which helps to leave hair shiny, making our hair repair mask, Restore and Shine, the ideal choice for dull, dry hair.

A slice of lemon drizzle cake; pure indulgence

When it’s grey outside and you are longing for sunshine, a slice of lemon cake is a surefire mood lifter. But there’s more to lemons than enhancing a sweet treat. Loaded with Vitamin C, lemons, along with other citrus fruits, contain essential nutrients for healthy hair growth. Vitamin C, found in many fruits and vegetables, helps the body absorb iron which in turn helps the body to grow strong hair. Lemon essential oil is blended with lime and may chang in our Restore and Shine Hair Masque giving it a super-uplifting zesty aroma.

Energy-boosting juices pepped up with lemon and lime

Forget feeling lacklustre on a cold winter’s morning. Because drinking green juices with added lemon and lime can kick start your day and put some kick-ass in your day!

Add some new flavours to your food.

Sage Food Inspiration

Adding herbs to food is a great way of pepping up a midweek meal. We like to experiment and, as we are taking inspiration from Restore and Shine Hair Masque, let’s talk about sage. Sage is an active ingredient in Restore and Shine Hair Masque and we use it to soften and smooth hair for frizz-free locks. When it comes to adding sage to the food we tend to think of it as an accompaniment to meats. However, using this Mediterranean herb with veggie dishes like mushroom pasta is delicious for a midweek treat.

Relaxing in a warm bath with your hair repair mask on…

There’s something about the winter months that makes us want to climb into the comfort of a warm bath. So, here we are right back where we started. Restore and Shine Hair Masque applied to the hair and breathing in those spa-like aromas. Think exotic spas. So, if you really get into the zone you are can almost imagine laying on some sandy beach with gentle waves lapping around your feet. All the while your hair is getting a wonderful treat.

If you’ve ever wondered how to repair damaged hair at home, here’s your answer. Take some time out once a week to enjoy some time for self-care with a hair repair mask. Because it’s a great way of looking after body and soul and your hair! Hair can sometimes be forgotten when we think about self-care. Having said that, when it comes to feeling good about how we look, hair is just as important our skin.

A weekly treat with a hair repair mask is one of the best ways of tackling damaged hair. Not to mention maintaining good hair health. We write extensively about hair health. Having worked with hair for many years, we believe the key to great looking, healthy hair is putting back what you take out. So, here’s what we mean by that. Because hair is exposed to many things such as sun, wind, rain, plus heated styling, it can become dry. For that reason, a hair repair mask is a great way of replenishing hair and adding moisture. As a result of treating hair weekly, hair can build moisture and regular treatments help hair to retain moisture.

How do you use a hair repair mask?

We are often asked how to use a hair repair mask. Because a hair repair mask is a part of a healthy hair care routine we think this is an important question. First of all, if you are going to use a weekly hair mask it’s important to get the most from it. Secondly, you want to ensure you get the best results for your hair type. We have written a blog about why using a deep conditioning hair mask is good for hair and, in that article, we talk about how to use a hair mask by hair type. So whether your hair is fine, dry, damaged, colour-treated, afro or curly you can find out how to use a hair mask by hair type. We recommend reading to get some expert tips on how to use a hair repair mask.

For more generic tips on how to use a hair repair mask, here’s what we recommend.
  • Apply the hair repair mask on damp, clean hair. So, ideally, you would shampoo before application and rinse. No need to apply conditioner.
  • After shampooing and rinsing, gently squeeze out the excess water with a towel. This will leave hair damp but not dripping wet.
  • Apply the hair repair mask to the ends and mid-lengths and leave for a minimum of 10 minutes or longer to let the hair soak up the moisture.
  • When you are ready, rinse the hair and dry and style as normal.
  • If you are using Restore and Shine Hair Masque, use around 10ml of product. You may need a little more or less but remember our products are concentrated so you don’t need much. You should expect to get 15 to 20 uses out of a 200ml pot.

We hope our list of favourite treats, inspired by the wonderful ingredient of Restore and Shine Hair Masque, has inspired you to beat the winter blues with some lovely treats of your own. For you and your hair! Enjoy. x
