YOUR QUESTIONS ANSWERED

We're sure you have plenty to ask about our products – below are some common questions with answers. If you think of anything else, please do email us.

How natural are your ingredients?

We carefully create our products based on the belief that if you want to get the best out of hair, you have to use premium ingredients. Our products are made with naturally-derived, active ingredients and essential oils. We also add a small amount of synthetic preservative to prevent spoilage from micro-organisms and keep them safe for use.

How do you test your products?

All our products go through rigorous assessments and laboratory testing to certify that they are safe to use and we never test them on animals. Once we've verified their safety, we test their performance in our hair salon. We combine our 20 years of haircare experience with direct feedback from customers to ensure our products perform to the highest standards.

Is your packaging recyclable?

Our British-made range is not only about making your hair look and feel amazing, we want you to experience the same sensation inside too. Our products are made in the UK in a sustainably-built eco-friendly factory which makes use of natural resources including sun, wind and water. Our products are biodegradable, all packaging is recyclable and we use chlorine-free paper made from 100% sustainable forests. So you can enjoy our haircare range guilt free.

Could I experience an allergic reaction to any of your products?

If you suffer from allergies, it's always best to check the ingredients of any product. We publish a full list of what we use on our packaging and website so that you can check before you buy. If you think you may be sensitive to a particular ingredient, we recommend that you test a small amount of the product on the inside of your elbow first. If you experience any sensitivity, we think it's best not to use the product.

Should I use a conditioner every time I wash my hair?

Conditioning is an essential part of caring for your hair. Even with the gentle cleansing ingredients in our shampoos, it's important to put moisture into your hair after washing. Our shampoos and conditioners are designed to work together to provide the right nutrients for shiny, healthy locks. If your hair is oily, it’s still best to use conditioner – if only a small amount. Try different amounts and see what works for you.

Can Ogario London hair care be used on children?

Our products are safe for children to use. However, we would recommend using a specialist product for very young children. If your children have allergies or sensitive skin, it's best to check with your doctor.

Can I use your products when I'm pregnant?

All of our ingredients are at levels that are safe for use. Our products do contain high levels of essential oils, which some women prefer to avoid during pregnancy. If you have any concerns, speak to your doctor before use.

How long will the products last me?

This really depends on the individual, how much hair you have and how often you wash it. On average, for an individual user, when washing hair two to three times a week we would expect the shampoo to last two months and using the same criteria for the conditioner, approximately four months. The hair masque, when used once or twice a week, again depending on the amount used, can last up to six months.

Do I need to wash my hair twice when using Ogario London shampoos?

It really depends on your hair and how often you wash it. If you wash it every day, it's unlikely to need a second wash. When hair hasn't been washed for two, three or more days, leaving it dirtier, you may find washing it twice gives you the best performance, as the first one acts as a pre-wash. Our belief is that you know your hair best so try both ways and see what works for you.
